We’re excited to announce the launch of our new Social Supermarket Programme.

This new innovative programme has been designed to deliver free employment and training advice, cost of living support and health and wellbeing signposting to men in Stockport.

This new programme has been designed in conjunction with our partners at Groundworks who will be delivering a Working Wardrobe service as part of the programme.

Funded by the National Lottery, the Social Supermarket will support men in Stockport between the ages of 18-65 who are either not currently in work or working in insecure jobs.

This exciting new programme operates a ‘no wrong door’ approach where men can enter through any local service and access the Social Supermarket Programme.

The Social Supermarket offers;

•    One to one coaching and advice
•    Confidence building
•    Access to Training and Education
•    Access to health and wellbeing services
•    Employment information, advice and guidance
•    Interview clothing and interview preparation sessions
•    Membership to Your Local Pantry

Participants will be supported by the Employment and Services Programme Coordinator and provided with 1-2-1 wraparound support to help them overcome barriers to employment and training.

The programme helps participants to develop a personal action plan focusing on issues like cost of living, physical & mental health, employment and training and helping them to improve their health and wellbeing, self-confidence, self-esteem, finance and employability skills.

So, if you’re a man between 18-65 or you know someone who is, this could be the perfect programme!

The Social Supermarket Programme has been funded by The Lottery Community Fund for the next 3 years.

This funding will be used to provide two project workers who will work directly with the men engaged on the programme.

During the programme, SKylight are looking forward to welcoming students from Manchester Metropolitan University to evaluate the programme and complete a comprehensive review on the impact and the outcomes.
