SKylight Appoints Marie Gilluley as New Chair of SKylight Board
SKylight is pleased to announce the appointment of Marie Gilluley as the new Chair of the Board, succeeding Roger Phillips, who recently retired from the role.
Marie brings over 35 years of experience in Further Education, following an early career as a Chartered Engineer. After spending 25 years at The Manchester College, she went on to serve as Principal and Chief Executive Officer at both Bolton College and Kirklees College, where she held the position for a combined ten years. In these roles, she provided academic oversight while managing institutional operations to ensure efficiency and effectiveness. She retired from full-time employment in July 2021.
Marie also brings valuable experience as a Non-Executive Director, currently serving as a Board Member at The Growth Company’s Workforce Development Advisory Board.
Her appointment as Chair comes at an exciting time for SKylight, an organisation dedicated to working closely with the people of Stockport to help transform lives in local communities. SKylight’s mission is to deliver meaningful services that empower individuals and strengthen the community. Marie’s extensive leadership experience, strategic vision, and commitment to education and development will be instrumental in driving this forward.
I am delighted to take on the role of Chair at SKylight Board. I look forward to working closely with the Board, leadership team, and our local partners to ensure that SKylight continues to create lasting impact and empower individuals in our community.
