Half a million pounds secured for community groups in Stockport
SKylight have helped groups attract funding since 2012, including:
- Over £5 million of grants
- £4.7 million of match funding in Stockport
- 90% success rate for bids in 2022/23
Over half a million pounds has been raised for Stockport’s Voluntary Sector in just 12 months with the helping hand of Skylight’s ground-breaking Funding Officer, Mark Rogers.
SKylight, a community benefit society working to alleviate poverty and transform the lives of local residents has continued to work closely within Stockport’s Third Sector, supporting organisations with funding bids and access to resources that enable activities around better physical and mental health to be delivered.
Over 70 health related grants totalling £158,302 were won in 2022/23, including Drywave Recovery, who provide support for people experiencing or recovering from the challenges of substance misuse. Mark’s specialist support on their recent bid secured a three-year, £174,000 grant from the National Lottery to cover running costs and staff salaries. Just one example on how Skylight’s Funding Officer has empowered a group to thrive and grow.
Since 2012 I have helped Stockport community groups make over 800 applications for funding, helping groups win over £5 million of grants and almost £5 million of match-funding. I have worked for housing associations across the North-West of England since 1994 as a quantity surveyor, development manager and specialist: building and refurbishing homes, bringing investment into neighbourhoods and helping community groups bring their projects to life.
